Deep Sky Selects Isometric as Carbon Removal Registry for Alpha Project

Montreal, June 19, 2025 —  Deep Sky, the world’s first tech-agnostic carbon removal project developer, today announced it has selected Isometric as the carbon removal registry for Deep Sky Alpha, the world’s first cross-technology carbon removal innovation and commercialization centre in Alberta, Canada. Isometric’s science-first approach and transparent, digital Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) platform will support Deep Sky’s mission to provide the global carbon market with access to trusted, high-quality carbon removal credits.

At Alpha, Isometric will oversee MRV activities and issue carbon removal credits in accordance with the Isometric Standard and Isometric’s Direct Air Capture Protocol. Deep Sky’s portfolio of DAC projects will deliver its first carbon removal credits to customers in summer 2025, using Certify—Isometric’s verification platform that streamlines credit issuance while ensuring quality.

Deep Sky has selected Isometric as its carbon removal credit registry partner to ensure transparency and traceability throughout its operations. With buyers of carbon removal prioritizing highly verifiable climate outcomes, this partnership enables Deep Sky to meet and exceed those benchmarks and issue credits that are backed by rigorous scientific protocols and third-party verification standards.

The partnership directly supports enterprises with climate commitments:

  • Verified High-Quality DAC Credits Starting in 2025: Deep Sky will begin delivering carbon removal credits as early as 2025. By issuing each credit under Isometric’s scientifically rigorous and market-leading Direct Air Capture Protocol, customers can have confidence that each credit represents one tonne of carbon dioxide durably removed from the atmosphere.
  • Innovative Technology Portfolio Model: Deep Sky offers buyers access to an “active portfolio within a portfolio” of emerging DAC technologies, with up to 10 DAC technologies deployed at Deep Sky Alpha. Additionally, 4 projects are under active development across Canada, accelerating climate impact while diversifying carbon removal across multiple DAC technologies.
  • Traceability and Auditability: Isometric’s transparent registry and Deep Sky’s tech-agnostic platform provide a verifiable, end-to-end audit trail that exceeds industry standards and ensures climate impact. This approach makes Deep Sky’s credits some of the most verifiable on the market.
  • Industry Accreditation: In December, Isometric became the first carbon removal registry to receive approval from all three major accreditation bodies—ICVCM, CORSIA, and ICROA.
  • Stable Canadian Infrastructure: Projects are developed leveraging Canada’s low-carbon energy grid, stable regulatory environment, and globally recognized geological storage, maximizing operational reliability and policy alignment.

Together, Deep Sky and Isometric are enabling a new level of confidence for climate leaders seeking carbon removal solutions that are scalable, permanent, and auditable.

Alex Petre, CEO of Deep Sky:

“The future of carbon removal depends on trust. Isometric’s scientifically rigorous, transparent approach gives our customers and investors the confidence they need to scale DAC infrastructure.”

Eamon Jubbawy, Founder and CEO of Isometric:

“We're pleased to support Deep Sky's innovative approach to accelerating the deployment of Direct Air Capture. This is important work that aligns with our mission of scaling carbon removal responsibly and fast.”
